The Need For This
The need for the dialogs that follow is not to tell you how things are, but to unsay the things that you’ve already heard and have taken to heart.

I want to explain all the different ways that our current understanding of the world and ourselves is missing something terribly important. We tell ourselves stories, and as a culture we do so as well. For the last few hundred years, our cultural stories have taken a dark turn. No longer are we the children of God, or gods, or even Nature — we have instead become, or so the story goes, nothing more than mechanical physical organisms created by pure blind chance from senseless matter, whose sole purpose is to survive and reproduce.
